FOCUS & KALKHOFF - FRAMES

We offer a 10-year extension to our comprehensive warranty programme for frames of e-bike and s-pedelec aluminium models.

In the event of processing or material faults, which lead to cracking or breakage, appearing on the frame within the 10-year warranty period, please contact your authorized dealer. The warranty only extends to the original (first) owner and is not transferable. If the bike has been used for hire, the warranty does not apply.

Warranty claims can only be made via your specialist dealer. Your specialist dealer will supply you with a new frame, and will install it for you.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or aging. Similarly excluded are damage or defects in the paintwork of e-bike frames. Any paintwork damage, which occurs after your specialist dealer has delivered your bike, is not covered by the terms of the warranty or liability for material defects. If the bike has been used for hire, the warranty does not apply.

The prescribed regular servicing must have been carried out by an authorized dealer and recorded in the service history log.

If your model is no longer included in our product portfolio within the ten-year warranty period, you will receive a suitable replacement model from the existing product range (color and finish may differ from the original model).

Please indicate the serial number as well. It can be found on the underside of the bottom bracket. You will also find a silver quality sticker in the bottom bracket area of all models, with two nine-digit number sequences. The top number sequence is preceded by the letters „sn“. This is the factory order number (serial number). The second number sequence is preceded by the letters „pn“. This is the article number, which starts with 61 or 62. The model names are attached to the frame as décors.

To activate your 10-year frame warranty, you must register your model, complete with all the required details, here online within 8 (Eight) weeks of the date of purchase. You will then receive a confirmation email which you must retain.

SHIMANO COMPONENTS

Shimano's warranty coverage against manufacturing faults is:

  • 3 full years on Durace and XTR series products
  • 2 full year on all other Shimano components
  • 1 full year on all footware, clothing and wheels

BOSCH System - New Bike Sales

The warranty periods offered will commence upon the date of the purchase of the Product and if the date cannot be determined, then the warranty period will commence twelve (12) months after the date of manufacture stamped on the Product.

The following warranty periods will apply:

Domestic, lease & subscription use:

• Motor: 2 years

• Batteries: 2 years or 500 charge cycles, whichever comes first

• Display Units: 2 years • Ancillaries (small parts & hardware): 2 years

Commercial use: 

• 1 year from date of purchase

The "domestic, lease & subscription use" warranty periods apply to Products that are used by individuals for personal use.

The commercial use warranty period will apply for Products used for all other uses. This includes, without limitation, use of Products for hire, demonstration or Delivery .

Li-ion batteries are subject to a natural aging process.
Robert Bosch GmbH (“Bosch”) guarantees to the e-bike manufacturer, on the current contractual basis, that the battery will retain at least 60% of its original energy content within the warranty period specified above. Bosch will assess, on a case-by-case basis, whether the conditions for granting a replacement battery under warranty or as a goodwill gesture are met in relation to the respective e-bike owner.

BOSCH System - Second Hand Sales

  • On second-hand bikes, Beyond Byron E Bikes may provide a 12-month limited warranty on the Bosch motor and battery against manufacturing defects.   If you are covered it will be stated on your invoice.

  • Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship only – not wear and tear, misuse, or normal ageing.

  • Assessment can be carried out at any Bosch-approved service center. Repairs or replacements will be carried out by Beyond Byron Ebikes at their Mooball location.

  • Customers are responsible for transporting the bike to and from our Mooball location for any warranty work.

These warranties are in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
