Self Guided E Bike Ride to Husk Farm Distillery from Mooball, opposite the Rail Trail.

Start your adventure opposite the Northern Rivers Rail Trail in Mooball. Enjoy a self-guided ride through the hinterland at your own pace. (This is a self-guided ride. We provide bike hire and optional transport only.)

Hire an e-bike from us and explore the region on a self-guided ride, following one of our suggested routes that includes sections of the Rail Trail and stunning rainforest, finishing at the award-winning Husk Farm Distillery for a well-earned drink.(Optional return transport to Mooball is available for your convenience.)

About the Northern Rivers Rail Trail
The Rail Trail is a 24km purpose-built bike trail following the old Casino to Murwillumbah railway line through the Tweed hinterland.

Between Murwillumbah and Husk Distillery is a beautiful climb through rainforest with expansive ocean views, followed by a stunning descent to the river through Duroby Nature Reserve.

There are two hills to climb, but with our e-bikes you’ll cruise up with ease.

Husk Farm Distillery at Tumbulgum is home to Husk rum and Ink gin and Australia's only farm to bottle rum distillery.

  • Latest BOSCH Smart System motors with 4 levels of assistance up to 25km/h and are seamless in operation.
  • All bikes have puncture proof tyres and gel seats

Other details...

  • All E Bike Hires start from our location in Mooball, opposite the southern end of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail (easiest access from Byron Bay, Lennox Heads, Ballina etc). 30 mins from Byron Bay.
  • You have up to 5.5 hours to complete the ride including time to stop or enjoy Husk Distillery. (Approx 3.15 hours riding time)
  • The suggested route is half off road and half on road (most roads are v quiet, there is one small section with some traffic). Not recommended for children under 14.
  • We provide - awesome E Bike, approved GIRO helmet, lights, lock & pannier or backpack, navigation via our custom smartphone app and battery power-bank for your phone
  • You need - closed shoes (trainers ideal), water bottle and appropriate exercise clothing & fully charged smartphone
